L.Brador X Isabell Rustad
Isabell Rustad (19) Breaks Boundaries – Both on the Track and in the Wardrobe
Isabell Rustad made history when she claimed victory in the Scandinavian Porsche Championship in September. But for this 19-year-old racing sensation, it’s not just about speed and success – she’s also driven to see more women behind the wheel and wearing clothes that truly work for them.
Isabell’s remarkable journey on the racetrack over the past few years is hard to miss. In September, she became the first woman ever to win the GT3 class in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia, cementing her place in racing history. But for Isabell, this is just the beginning.
She has a clear vision: more women in motorsport.
“Motorsport is one of the few sports where women and men compete on equal terms. We have nothing to fear,” says Isabell, smiling.
“It’s an inclusive environment, and the more women who step in, the more inclusive it becomes. If you’re curious – hop in and drive!”
Clothing That Makes a Difference
When Isabell isn’t on the track, she spends her time in the workshop or training. And there, she’s just as meticulous about her clothes as she is about her car. As an ambassador for L.Brador, she’s even designed her own collection of workwear, and her favorite item is none other than a pair of trousers that truly stand the test of time.
“It’s important that we have workwear that works for everyone, regardless of gender. Men’s trousers don’t fit me the same, so it’s really exciting to showcase clothes that are actually made for women – even in an industry where men still dominate.”
Isabell is especially fond of the L.Brador work trousers 1843PB, which have accompanied her through many intense days in the workshop.
“These trousers are gold! I’ve had them for years, and they still look as fresh as ever. They’re durable and comfortable – simply perfect!”
Another favorite is the Omnio jacket 656PB, which she loves to wear when the temperature drops.
“It fits like a dream. I used to wear men’s models, but it’s a completely different feeling when the clothes are made for women. Plus, they look so much better!”
Comfort and Safety – Hand in Hand
Elin Lundström, concept manager at L.Brador, emphasizes the importance of workwear being both protective and comfortable.
“If the clothes don’t fit well or feel uncomfortable, you risk not wearing them. And that’s something we want to avoid,” says Elin.
“But the clothes should also look good. When you feel good in what you’re wearing, you perform better – that’s something we really believe in.”
Safety comes first
Safety is a top priority in Isabell’s world, both on the track and in the workshop.
“We take safety very seriously,” says Isabell.
“Whether it’s hearing protection, safety glasses, or work shoes – everything has to be top-notch.”
Together with Skydda and L.Brador, Isabell and her father, Tommy Rustad, show that motorsport is not just about fast cars and victories.
“Safety is just as important as speed. We work closely with Skydda to make sure we have the best gear, from safety glasses to work gloves and first aid equipment.”
